Playing with Tab Beginner Piano Sheet Music
Reading tab beginner piano sheet music is different from reading regular sheet music. Tabs are very visual, and this is why the four steps of learning are important. By knowing the keys on the piano and the number of your fingers, you are ready to begin playing the piano. Tab music has four key components for reading and playing:
• The first thing that you will see when you open a tab is a colored piano keyboard on the top. Each color will resemble a section of notes. For example, the purple is the middle of the keyboard.
• Then you will see a letter. This letter represents the note that you are playing. For example, a purple C is a middle C, a yellow C is a low C, and a red C is a high C.
• The tab music will also have a number under the letter. This number coordinates with the finger used to play the note.
• When looking at the tab music you will see different widths for the notes, and this represents the length to play the note (a space means that there is no note played).
You will see the same setup for both the left hand and the right hand. This visual makes it easy to know what finger is playing which note and for how long.
